In the Lewis lab, I’m working on discovering new antibiotics produced by environmental bacterial. I’m currently focusing on developing methods for eliciting production of antibiotics from strains that can produce novel compounds, but don’t in standard culture conditions. I’m also working on bioinformatics approaches to identifying producers of novel antibiotics.
