My research at the Lewis lab is to identify species-specific antimicrobial compounds from non- pathogenic bacteria. I am focusing on the gastric pathogen H. Pylori which infects about half of the world’s human population. An increase in H. pylori antibiotic resistance enhances the risk of gastric cancer. Species selective antibiotics can combat antibiotic resistance and protect from antibiotic- induced gut microbiota dysbiosis.

I earned my Ph.D. in 2022 at the University of Tokyo where I studied the molecular mechanism of H. pylori-induced human diseases.

During my spare time, I like to walk, cook, travel, and watch movies.
